Last day of March (revised)

At the end of a very chaotic and productive month, it's appropriate to close with a spring scene from Loose Park in Kansas City.

Hail

Woke early to the sound of large thuds on the roof - golfball-sized hail, Then heavy rain, sirens. Turned out to be a false alarm for a tornado.

Deer

Last night when I went out to my car in the driveway, I heard a rustling which startled me. It sounded close by but was actually up the street a little way. Five deer were in a neighbor's yard. Some of them had scattered across the sidewalk when I came outside.

Last year there were three that wandered through town late at night and early in the morning. One morning at dawn, they clattered down the hill to the stop sign, and sensing a human presence, stopped, then turned left down the street.
