Working and cooking
Working on editing students' papers. Cooked a meal the other night. Steak, potatoes and salad. Calling the acupuncturist to make an appointment. Not much going on.

Corporate video
This afternoon I'll be lecturing on corporate video and documentary film. Lots of examples on YouTube. Great to have these examples easily accessible. Better than the days of carrying a lot of videotape around.

Beyond words
The sun's shining this morning for the first time in days. A fine mist has been falling.

Stillness
Ran into an advanced age woman this morning. She looked up, greeted me and said, without preamble, "Everything's happening at once, isn't it?"

Quiet calm
The night was completely still as I drove home tonight.
No teaching, just grading today. Voting Day.

Fun

It's easy.
Preparing for a peer review by the department today of my lecture on documentary and experimental. Thought I might show a clip from No Map for these Territories, the seminal documentary film of an interview with William Gibson.
And, yes, if I was there, I'd be home by now.

Health matters
I've seen a chinese chiropractic acupuncturist for treatment for a few weeks. Have a minor, chronic right hip problem that requires adjustment every three or four months. The acupuncture is helping rebalance and smooth the chi, whatever that is. (Not an endorsement.)
