On
the road again
Went
to see my family. The milo in the area is ready for harvest. The
last time I drove through, the wheat was ready for harvest. The
newly planted wheat crop at the farm looks like it will be a good
stand.
Driving
through the prairie at twilight....

The

A nearly
perfect evening here - still, moonlit, beautifully surreal.
A picture
of the Pope in a pancake?
Pictures of
yours truly....
Time
is either moving at the speed of light or slow as molasses. Difficult
to tell which on some days. Updates won't be happening for the next
week as I'll be away from the computer on the Georgia coast.
Life
is hectic in a good way. More rain predicted for tomorrow, along
with a drop in temperature of 30 degrees.
The
Kaw River crested yesterday. Didn't come out of its banks here.
Reports of
the damage.

Kaw
River, cresting, looking east.

Two
geese don't seem to mind.

One
of those six hour rainstorms sat over the house again last night.
Got maybe an inch or two of rain total. This morning, I was shocked
to read in the AP wires that
Jefferson County, 10 - 15 miles north of here, has been declared
a disaster area with flooding from a foot of rain.
Illness,
unexpected calls to work, deadlines - general chaos - smoother
now.
